The 2004 IJSBA World Finals Amateur Freestyle World Champion can Compete in the Pro Freestyle Competition
The International Jet Sports Boating Association (IJSBA) announced today that the 2004 IJSBA Amateur Freestyle World Champion would be able to move-up to the Pro class and participate in the Pro Freestyle competition on Saturday and Sunday. The 2004 IJSBA World Finals takes place October 3-10 at the Crazy Horse Campground on the shores of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
“The top amateur freestyle competitor should be able to display his or her tricks in front of the weekend crowd,” said IJSBA Managing Director, Biorn Tangeland. “Coming from the thrill of winning a world championship only a day earlier should help the competitor to step-it-up for the pro-level competition,” continued Tangeland.
After the 2004 Amateur Freestyle World Champion has been crowned, the winner will be allowed to declare if he/she wants to be classified as a pro competitor and compete in the Pro Freestyle competition on Saturday and Sunday. If the winner elects to do so, he/she will then be classified as a Pro Freestyle competitor for the 2004 World Finals and the following 2005 competition season while still maintaining the 2004 Amateur Freestyle World Championship.
