IJSBA has received the following from RPM Racing, the IJSBA Sanctioned organizer in the Southwestern United States:

Rounds 1 & 2 of the Jettribe "Best of the West" Series The 3rd Annual Lake Havasu Open of Watercross - Gary Hart Memorial Race
Presented by Jettrim, Sea-Doo, Hot Products, Hydro-Turf, Jet Re-Nu, Bomber Eyewear, C57 Racing Products, Amsoil Twins, Skat-Trak, Oakley, Kawasaki, Pro Watercraftracing, IPD Graphics, Yamaha, HPWCA, Pirates Cove, Sea-Tow, Watercraft Rider, Pro-Rider Magazine & Watercraft Rider held in conjunction with the Havasu Boat Show at Windsor 4 Beach, Lake Havasu State Park on April 9 & 10 started the 2016 IJSBA closed course racing season in grand fashion.

Not even Mother Nature's fury could prevent the racers from finishing up the annual event. Saturdays races started off with over 120+ riders and beautiful 80 degree weather. Race Fan's and Havasu Boat show attendees descended on the white sands of Windsor 4 Beach to watch some of the best riders and "up and comers" take to the waters of Lake Havasu to do battle on the Todd "Sarge" Young created course. Riders knocked the dust off and began the Jettribe "Best of the West" & Hot Products Cup Championship chase in earnest and the battles on the race course were fierce from the snap of the 1st band until the final checkered flag of the weekend. Freestyle competitors took to the waters both days to provide an alternative to race action and entertain the crowd while earning points towards their Championship.

Sunday's round #2 marked an end to the good weather as the rain g-d's decided to unleash their torrent onto Lake Havasu but a little, er, a lot of rain didn't stop the racers from continuing their battle. In the final analysis, Rounds 1 & 2 didn't dissapoint riders and fans alike and the quest for a championship is well undeway! The legacy that Gary Hart left behind is alive and well in the sport he dearly loved!
