IJSBA is very sad to bring you this announcement from the Bohat Family. Ed Bohat was a staunch supporter of PWC Racing and his presence and advice will truly be missed by this office and the community.
IJSBA received this notice today as written by Jaymi Bohat:
“Monday November 19th Ed "Butch" Bohat passed away at his home in Kenosha unexpectedly. He is the father of Brad Bohat, Ed and Brad have been in the racing community for quite some time now. Anyone that has ever been to any of the Great Lakes Watercross Races was sure to know who Ed was. He was even known my most who attended the IJSBA World Finals in Lake Havasu City. He had a very strong personality and was liked by everyone. He was one of the biggest supporter of this sport and would have done anything to help anyone. I have been fortunate enough to call him my family as he has been my father in law for the last year.
I dont know exactly how many times Ed has made the trip to Havasu, but at least the last 10 years. I had the pleasure of making 3 trips out to Havasu now with Ed, Patty (Eds wife) and Brad and each time Ed is the one who made the experience as great as it could have been. From everything to showing me the best places to eat, best drinks to have, and the best people to be around.
My understanding is that the GLW tour is going to continue next year and we all know there will be something missing with Ed not being in the pits, but with no doubts in my mind he will always be there in spirit.
His funeral information will be in the Kenosha Newspaper tomorrow, with the full obituary in Fridays edition of Kenosha News.
Here is the information for those of you who have asked. I know many of you may have already seen this on facebook but I just wanted ot be sure to share it here as well.
