  • Qualification

 

5.1 Riders shall register as a valid member of a national authoirty, association or club.

5.1.1 Asian riders other than Chinese riders in order to be qualified to the event, shall register through Aquabike associations or clubs of their relevant region.

5.1.2 Riders from mainland China shall register through regional associations or clubs of Chinese Motorboat Association. Riders shall be Chinese citizens or foreigners with legal residence of People’s Republic of China, holding valid registration certificate or driving license issued by Chinese Motorboat Association. Unregistered riders can apply for temporary race permit at race site from Chinese Motorboat Association at the price of 200 RMB/person.

5.2 Riders must be in good health status, have no heart disease, epilepsy, visual and auditory disorders or physical illness, and have ability to swim continuously for at least 200 meters.

5.3 Riders under 18 must provide a written permission from his/her guardian willing to take full unforeseen risks during the race then could he/she be entered through an association or club.

5.4 American/ African/ European/ Oceanian riders can register through Chinese Motorboat Association or Race Committee via contacts below.

5.5 Riders shall have insurance no lower than 500,000 RMB for personal accident and medical insurance.

  • Entries

 

6.1 Teams with less than 3 (includes 3) riders can register 1 team leader or coach. Team with more than 4 (includes 4) riders can register 1 team leader plus 1 more mechanic or staff.

6.2 Runabout Freestyle (Hydro-Flyer): Each team can enter maximum 4 riders.

6.3 Slalom: No entry number limitation for the slalom riders.

6.4 Circuit: Each team can enter maximum 4 riders for each circuit category.

6.5 Entries shall be in accordance with “Aquabike Sports Riders Classification” published by Chinese Motorboat Association. For Open, Pro-Am and Am-Novice class, riders can enter as long as they are qualified.

6.6 Watercraft homologation shall be in accordance with “Racing Equipment Classification”published by Chinse Motorboat Association. P750 category is only allowed to use the inflatable boats manufactured by Baoquan Yacht Club with Tohatsu 50 HP engine, no modification is allowed.

6.7 Riders should prepare their own racing equipment. Engines and bikes cannot be shared in the same class, except for Runabout Freestyle (RF) Class.

6.8 Riders must wear personal safety equipment of helmet, armor, legguard, life jacket, wetsuit to race. All personal equipment must be approved by referee committee; otherwise, riders can be disqualified.

6.9 Race numbers shall be printed on watercrafts by riders. The numbers shall be black on white background with size 40cm*30cm. Domestic riders: Capital letter of the province and number. Foreign riders: Riders need to register their number to the race committee before the race, and the committee has the right to alter riders’ numbers if necessary.

6.10 Race Committee will be responsible for local transportation, accommodation & catering service for registered participants. Octane 97 Gasoline will be provided to the riders. Watercraft load/unload service will be provided to the registered teams. Team transportation outside of the race city, logistic fees and other relevant fees are on team’s own responsibility. Unregistered personnel shall cover their own expenses, otherwise they could book service package at price of 300RMB per person, per day to the Race Committee in advance to get service as those registered.

6.11 All teams and riders shall estimate the race risk themselves and join the race with his/her own free will. Any rider who registered for the race means he/she agreed to obey the rules of the race and will take his/her own responsibility of the risk in the race. Riders need to sign a disclaimer declaration before the race. Race Committee suggests that all the riders shall keep insurance for the race equipment.

  • Race Regulation

 

7.1 The race is sanctioned by the Rulebook of UIM, Asian Aquabike Open and the P750 Inflatable Class, the rules of IJSBA will be also consulted. Race Committee reserves the right to amendment and interpretation of the race instruction and regulation.

7.2 Runabout Freestyle (RF): Two rounds, top 8 riders of the first round enter the Final, the result of Final round will determine the top 8’s result. Result is scored by Freestyle judges by accumulating the score for each completed trick within set time.

7.3 Slalom: All riders will be allotted randomly into two groups for race Heat. According to the entry numbers, top 8 or 4 riders of two groups enter the knockout by S-shaped qualifying. Each rider races one slalom course once, and swaps the course for the second run. Total time of the two courses determines the winner, and the winner moves to the next round.

7.4 Circuit: Closed circuit. Riders shall join the Practice and Heat. Top 12 or 16 of each Heat group will be qualified for next race. Starting position for Heat will be randomly allotted, and previous round result determines the starting position for next round.

Starting is at fixed place at the same time. Runabout and ski run 10 minutes plus 1 lap, P750 Inflatable Class runs the starting lap plus 9 laps. Completed laps and finishing time determine the result, and riders accumulate points by result ranking. Please check the scoring table below. Total score determines the final rank. If there is a dead heat, last round result shall determine. Riders fail to finish 2/3 of the race earn no point.

7.5 The race mainly employs Electronic Timing System (ETS), and manual timing as back up.

7.6 Riders subject to dangerous driving or cause serious safety problem during the race could be disqualified by Referee Committee.

7.7 Race Committee reserves the right to shorten, change or cancel the race period according circumstances.

8.1 Arbitration Committee: Members are appointed by Chinese Motorboat Association, binding by “Laws of Arbitration Committee”.

8.2 Referee Committee: Race director and main referees are appointed by Chinese Motorboat Association, underrepresentation could be supplemented by organizer.

8.3 Protest Committee: Protest Director is appointed by Chinese Motorboat Association, members would be selected from the team recommended candidates before the race.

  • Ranking and Awards

 

9.1 Top 3 riders of each category will be awarded with trophies, and top 8 are awarded with credentials.

9.2 Cash Bonus is awarded according to entry and actual participants number of each category: top 8 cash awards available in no less than 12 entries; top 6 cash awards available for 8 to 11 entries; top 4 cash awards available for less than 8 entries.
