IJSBA has received the following update from the Western Canadian Watercross Association.  Their final event will be August 26 and 27 in Alix Lake in Alix, Alberta.  See complete details at http://www.wcwa-online.com/race-schedule.html.  Below is their press release:

This has been a great summer for the WCWA. With 3 race weekends already complete the racers are well on their way to collecting points for the overall season titles.

Medicine Hat, AB June 10th & 11th

Blackstrap Lake, SK June 24th & 25th

South Saskatchewan River Saskatoon, SK July 15th & 16th

With only one weekend of racing remaining the racers have a few weeks to prepare. With a location and date change the association hopes for a great turnout for the final event. A great community of racers is what continues to grow the association. Awards and a community supper will be served to celebrate the seasons success.

Last year the membership grew with a huge turnout of new beginner racers. This year we continue to have new beginner racers turning up at our races to grow the sport.

Among our tour are some of the greatest in the sport. Mike Klippenstein of Fort McMurray, AB always seems to make time for his home tour among all of his other racing and venues across North America.  The runabout class is lead in points by the husband and wife team of Cory & Tammy Rarick of Medicine Hat, AB. The runabout class continues to grow with great ambassadors of the sport. The sport spec class has opened up a door for many racers to try something different and get racing on entry level skis.

The WCWA is always inviting out new racers and encouraging you to try an amazing summer sport in Canada.
