Watersport Productions is set to kick off their 2006 Mid-Atlantic Watercross Tour with the first race this weekend, April 29 and 30.
The event will be held at Aqualand Marina in Newburg, Maryland. This historic waterway is located on the North Side of the Potomac River adjacent to Harry Nice Bridge off of Highway 301.
Local amenities include the famous Robertson’s Crab House (where you can play Keno and get a tableside back rub after the race), colonial period antique shopping, and close proximity to the birthplace of George Washington.
Of course, the main reason to head to Newburg will be the racing. According to promoter Robbie Darnell, there will be more than 50 Supercourse participants and more than 100 Closed Course participants.
Darnell, a former Factory Kawasaki Racer, will be using his experience to put on an event best tailored to the needs of today’s racers. This year promises to be a spectacular season of racing for Region 8. The following is the remainder of the Mid-Atlantic Watercross Tour Schedule:
Round 3 & 4 - May 13 & 14 Beesley's Point, NJ
Round 5 & 6 - May 27 & 28 Wildwood, NJ
Round 7 & 8 - July 8 & 9 Lake Anna Beach Marina, VA
