IJSBA is pleased to share the following update regarding the Junior Stars program at the 2022 Jettrim WGP-1 World Finals:

The IJSBA is pleased to announce a new opportunity for Juniors to develop their professionalism at the 41st IJSBA World Finals in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. During the Junior Stars Day with the Pros, participants will have an opportunity to sit for professional interviews with world-renowned announcer Dawn Dawson.  These interviews will be professionally edited into 90 second videos for use on social media, local media, and for courting sponsors.
Billy Dearman of Florida’s DearmanCorp Properties and holder of numerous National and International Championships, donated the DearmanCorp/Judge Motorsports trailer to be converted into a studio for the event.  When asked by Junior Stars of Florida to use his trailer, Dearman was quick to respond, “I’m honored to do it! The kids are the future of the sport, and we’d be fools to not invest in them.”  The studio will be located at the entrance to vendor alley and open throughout the Day with the Pros event.
The idea to produce these videos comes from Dawn Dawson of Reflections Advertising, a former pro racer and one of the most recognized voices in PWC racing. “There is more to being a Champion than winning races. Champions have the power to make an impression for themselves, their sponsors, and the sport. A true Champion makes us all ‘level up’ by inspiring fans. Sponsors and fans expect more from a Champion:  Can they perform on camera? Do they represent themselves, their products and the sport with honor on and off the course? Can they inspire others to work hard and emulate Championship behavior? These interviews and videos give each Junior Star an opportunity to develop a life skill doing what they love!”
Valentina Laezcano of Miami Jet Ski Shop will be working with Dawn to schedule and prep the racers.  She will be stationed next to the studio trailer to shepherd racers and parents through the process.  Valentina is highly accomplished as a racer and is one of the sport’s most prolific social media practitioners. “I’m truly excited to have the opportunity to be able to show these kids how to shine & to teach them how to gain new sponsors through their social media presence! These kids are the future!”
IJSBA and Junior Stars of Florida would like to remind all parents that the Day with the Pros is only open to racers who are registered for World Finals.  All parents must have a signed media release on file in order for their racer to participate in the interviews.  Registration is open at www.ijsba.com
Junior Stars is entertaining offers for sponsorship of these videos.  While the time to create them is donated, professional editing is time consuming and expensive. “These videos will be shared around the country and internationally by family and local press for each of these kids.  It is reasonable to believe that they will be a ‘first look’ at our sport for many viewers and potential customers.  Businesses interested in sponsoring the videos can contact Doug Underhill at 850-281-1981 or Doug@JuniorStarsOfFlorida.com
