The folks at Jettribe were there for the 2017 IJSBA European Finals. Here is there report (along with a couple of ads).
Race - Recap Jettribe Euro Jetski Championship, Pöchlarn, Austria - July 5th - 9th, 2017
The Jettribe staff has been to many races around the world, but the Jettribe IJSBA European Championship in Austria was one of the most impressive events we have ever attended. The race took place just outside the town of Pöchlarn, Austria. It is a small town known for their wine, the Danube river, and for where Beethoven and Bach studied music. We came feeling it was just another event, but by the end of the first day, the friendship and camaraderie we felt from everyone in attendance left a warm spot in our hearts that will last a lifetime.
Jettribe was honored to be working with a great local organizer, Daniel from Belassi, and with professional event coordinators Peter de Smet and Deborah Holtzer. They and their amazing support staff made the event flow flawlessly thanks to their late hours and early mornings. We also want to thank Scott Frazier from the IJSBA for making the long trek over for this prestigious event. And who can forget Diogo and Ricardo from JetSkiNWorld for taking one for the team to film the event, party each evening, and edit video while we slept so everyone could have updates in the morning. Also, thank you to the course marshals who were the first ones the water, and the last to leave each day. We tip our hats to you unsung heroes. Lastly, Bart Segers as Race Director had to make some tough decisions on the track, we respect him for doing so, and we all leave as friends. We were beyond impressed with the European Series, and the courtesy each fan, rider and family had for one another.
Both competitors and friends could be seen hanging out with each other between events. It was impressive to see all teams well prepared and ready to race at any moment. Almost no one was seen frantically wrenching between motos. The level of organization and cleanliness in the pits is also beyond what we normally see. With such a short riding season due to weather in Europe, these riders must have a grueling training schedule to be at the level they were for this event.
We were honored to see our Jettribe Factory and Team Riders compete so well amongst the 200+ riders from over 25 different countries in attendance. It was a tough battle, but once again Factory Rider Gyorgy Kasza was the GP Runabout Champion. Red Jersey Rider Anthony Torelli did extremely well on his Bullet 1100 in a field full of brand new 1500 SXRs. Ildi Vasari made the podium on a stock ski, in a non-stock class. Anthony Errecart placed a respectful 2rd place in the highly competitive Ski Novice Lites class.
Jettribe has been honored to support this event for the past 6 years, and we will continue to do so in the future. We look forward to sharing this truly inspirational European race experience with our West Coast riders.
