Rounds 7 & 8
The Lake Elsinore Open of Water X

The innaugural Lake Elsinore Open of Water X - Rounds 7 & 8 of the Jettribe "Best of the West" series was a tremendous event. Racers from all over Southern California, Northern California, Washington, Colorado,Arizona & Nevada
came out to support their closed course series. 17 classes and freestyle put on a display that hadn't been seen in many years at Lake Elsinore. Racing continued to be intense from the first snap of the band to the last checkered flag!

With over 120 entries on hand, the riders showed up with great enthusiasm to a site with a picturesque background that could not be matched! Some big winners of the weekend were: Kole Cramer, Lake Havasu City, AZ who dominated the Jr. 13-15 Lites & the Am Ski Mod classes with 1st place finishes across the board, Hunter Dunn, Huntington Beach, CA who also went "card" with perfect moto's in the Blaster Spec class for both rounds, Trisha Juarez, Las Vegas, NV who dominated the Women's Ski Ltd. and Novice Ski Ltd. classes and the Jr. 10-12 see-saw battle between Tallon Chambers, Livermore, CA and Revin Harris, Gilbert, AZ who swapped 1st & 2nd with each other all weekend. Kyle Hawse, Las Vegas, NV narrowly edged out Tyler Hill, Riverside, CA in the Novice Ski Stock on Saturday but it was all Jeremiah Marino on Sunday. Todd "Sarge" Young racing in what seems like every class pushed himself to the podium in Master's Ski Stock. Mark Conroy, Cave Creek, AZ took Round #7 in Am Vet Ski Mod class while returning Veteran Mike "The Scorcher" Scornaienchi, Fircrest, WA continued his winning ways in the Am Vet Ski Mod class in Round #8.

Charlie Sims continued to push the competition in the Vintage X2 Open while Danny Ortega, McCall, ID took the home the prize on Sunday in Vintage X2 Stock and James Alamillo, Palmdale, CA won on Saturday inthe Runabout N/A class while Brandon Warner, Corona, CA took the trophy on Sunday.

Some great hi-point battles will likely come down to the finals at Lake Perris as Charles Anderson will battle Todd "Sarge" Young in the Master's Ski Stock Class and Sarge will have to battle Hunter Dunn & Chris Versola for the championship in the Blaster Open Spec class. J.B. Gasperone and Lauren Conroy are separated by 33 points going into the final rounds of competition in the Novice Ski Ltd. class with Trisha Juarez not out of contetion yet! 10 points separate our Jr. 10-12 Stock racers and like the see-saw battle at most of the races this season between Tallon Chambers and Revin Harris this one will definitely be decided at Lake Perris! Even closer, just 2 points separate Denny Janeway from Tony Martinez (408 to 406) inthe Sport GP class and Charlie Sims and Derek Stout are going to have to battle it out for the Season championship in the Vintage X2 Stock class! Bring on the Series finals!

Congratulations to all the competitors who took part in Rounds 7 & 8 of the Jettribe "Best of the West" Series!

As mentioned, the Jettribe "Best of the West" series championship comes to an exciting conclusion next month in Lake Perris at Rounds 9 & 10- The Lake Perris Season Finals & North vs. South California State Championships Night Race - under the lights chase and Hot Product Cup championship on August 13 & 14th!
