Going on now is the Lake Elsinore Open.  This event starts to wind down the season for RPM Racing which is the organization that promotes in the Southern California/Arizona area.  IJSBA labels this district “Southwest.”  Like many regions, there is  a lot of history and a lot of legacy people walking the beach at the events.  Tuners, wrenchers, and parents have been involved since the days when all of this got started.  As the season winds down, some people have realized their dreams and goals, other people have coasted by and committed to earn their title sometime in the future, and others gave it their best shot only to have the dream of a win waiting for World Finals or another year.  Each year is significant and, for those of us who have gone from teen to grey haired with this sport as our obsession, it is all one experience that has not ended yet.  Good luck to everyone and thank you for keeping PWC Racing strong.  Jettribe is the title sponsor of this series.  Below is their press release:

International Jet Sports Boating Association (IJSBA) sanctioned championship closed course PWC racing returns to Lake Elsinore on Saturday & Sunday, July 9 & 10 after a three year hiatus. What can be described as MotoX racing on water will test the strength, agility & finesse of the racers around a tight track filled with turns. Two days of intense "closed" course racing featuring some of the best racers in the country for Rounds 7 & 8 of the Jettribe "Best of the West" Series." Over 120 "closed" course stand up and runabout PWC racers from the Western United States are expected to descend on the normally tranquil La Laguna Resort. Fans can look forward to seeing some 18 Classes of "closed" course racing and freestyle competitors dazzling the fans with their routines of flips, rolls and other great tricks to earn the judges points. Racing on the water featuring some of the brightest future stars- the Junior racers to the Novice & Expert racers and finally the Pro's who's skills and big horsepower are made for exciting race action on the nimble "closed" course.

The Jettribe "Best of the West" series championship chase and Hot Product Cup championships points battles are heating up due to the great competition seen over the past 6 rounds of racing. All racers are looking for wins in their classes and to increase their overall points towards the season finals, Round #9, at Lake Perris on August 13th!

The event is open to the public, so grab the kids and some sunscreen, and come out to La Laguna Resort & Boat Launch to watch some great watercraft racing! Practice at 9 am, racing at 10 am. Coach T's BBQ will be on hand selling award winning BBQ and drinks.
