Background

Bolt Motorbikes started in the San Francisco garage of founder Dr. Nathan Jauvtis. After receiving his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Cornell University and tired of the aerospace industry, Nathan began electrifying mobility and has been since 2006.

Zach Levenberg is a San Francisco native who set a World Record by riding his classic gas moped 13,000 miles from San Francisco to Ushuaia, the southern tip of South America. In 2006, Zach and Nate first crossed paths through a local chapter of the 13,000 member moped community called “Moped Army”. The two instantly bonded over the mutual adoration for all things two-wheels.

In the fall of 2013, Zachand Nate quit their day jobs to develop Bolt full-time. Thirty years and over 100,000 miles of riding experience combine with their

Engineering and Manufacturing expertise to bring the Bolt M-1 to production.
