The International Jet Sports Boating Association is reminding the Personal Watercraft Racing Community that the period to suggest rule changes for the 2026 competition season closes tonight at 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time.  If you would like to suggest changes to the IJSBA Competition Rule Book, for the 2026 season, please submit any suggestions by emailing info@ijsba.com today.  Please see this previous post regarding the requested format for submission:  IJSBA Opens Period For Rule Change Suggestions For 2026 Competition Season - IJSBA.

Preview Of Rules Received So Far

There are four primary rule suggestions that have surfaced with support:

  1. Allow the addition of an aftermarket jet pump in Sport Spec.
  2. Restrict fuel to pump gas in all Ski Lites, all Stock Classes, and Sport Spec
  3. Remove camshaft timing gear allowance for Ski Stock.
  4. Restrict base gasket thickness in Ski Lites

There are also some suggestions that have come in, some which frequently arise, but are not usually as well supported:

  1. Require Stock Class watercraft to be OEM Stock
  2. Revisit Zeel ignition for Sport Spec
  3. Restrict aftermarket battery to 12 Volt
  4. Allow aftermarket steering nozzle for Kawasaki SX-R in Ski Lites
  5. Restrict cylinder head allotments for Ski Lites (760 modification)
  6. Increase minimum age for Ski GP classes.

All suggestions may be submitted for review.  Additionally, some suggestions such as "change all GP Classes to Modified Rules" are not really rule suggestions but can be reviewed none the less.  If you have any questions or comments regarding this posting, please email info@ijsba.com.
