IJSBA is pleased to release the planned Closed Course track for the 2026 Short Block Technologies World Finals which is also the second stop of the IJSBA sanctioned WGP1 World Series.  Last year, IJSBA released a nearly identical track and received the most amount of approval and positive post race feedback than from many previous years.  This course builds on that direction by adding another technical section to what is typically the back stretch.  This additional set of turns is designed to prepare competitors for IJSBA goals of reducing the overall top speeds on the race course and to disincentivize building extreme watercraft which are designed only for holeshots and pulling away on the back stretch.  Closed Course racing is a display of skill of talented athletes piloting well built Personal Watercraft around a technical track.  Those racers who have conditioned themselves and their watercraft properly will pull ahead from those who have not even at lower speeds than which are seen on the track now.  By shaving off top speeds from the back stretch, we can send competitors into the split area closer together to provide for more passing opportunities.  This leaves it up to the athlete to navigate either split option the best to come out ahead.  Please send questions or comments regarding this track to IJSBA by emailing info@ijsba.com.
