IJSBA is informing competitors that on February 5, 2023, the competition membership price will increase to $85.  Competition memberships are required to participate in all IJSBA Sanctioned competitions in the United States (except World Finals where foreign competitors are required to have valid membership from an IJSBA Sanctioned affiliate or club in the same nation as the passport of the competitor).

The most exciting part of this announcement is that, after many delays, IJSBA has two working card printers, an ample supply of usable printer ribbons, and blank cards which look to be all in working order.  Sourcing all of these items at once has been a challenge since the pandemic but, like COVID-19, we hope that we have finally seen the last of the headaches of that period.  IJSBA will begin printing cards on Monday, January 12, 2023.  We will print cards for memberships received from September 1, 2022 forward. Competition memberships enrolled from January 1, 2022 to September 1 will not receive a card unless requested.  However, to, again, make up for the period where we did not print, we will not increase membership renewal prices until September 1, 2023.  This will give all of you a $5 apology and we think the card issues are finally at an end.

As a footnote, we have received a couple of suggestions in the comment period regarding changing the competition membership enrollment method to end all memberships on December 31 of each year.  This posting is not to say that this particular change suggestion is not being considered but, if it were to come to pass, it could not be implemented this year.
