IJSBA is pleased to announce that Melissa Ellison has been added as part of the regular IJSBA staff. Many World Finals regulars will recognize her as the Scoring Director for the event. This year, Melissa will take over pre-registration duties in order to coordinate entries more efficiently for those competitors who had the good sense to register in advance. In addition, Melissa will assisting in regular office support and logistical planning. Below is her biography:
Melissa Ellison is a mother of three young boys and a working mom. She graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and Forensic & Investigative Sciences. As a hobby for most of Melissa’s working life she has been involved with Jet Skiing. She began her career as a Computer Software Project Manager in this field in 1993 with Jacque Bryant under Hamerrtime Promotions. It was here that her love of the sport began. She completed countless races in the Midwest Region throughout the summers of the 90’s.
In 2000 Melissa was asked to work the prestigious World Finals in Lake Havasu City Arizona with the IJSBA. She has had the opportunity to return each year to complete this nostalgic event. Melissa has also had the honor of attending the Asian Beach Games in Thailand in 2014 where she was Head Scorer for the Asian Olympic Beach Games. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, camping and baseball games.
